| Finishing Techniques: |
Finishing off your work nicely can make all the difference.
On my container, frames and mirrors I always paint the sides that are not mosaiced
with acrylic paint. I generally match the color of the grout and the paint.
Look at your finished piece and take a toothpick to clean off the little pieces of
grout that may still be stuck to a tile.
For indoor projects, I use a little olive oil to shine up the piece; it also makes
the grout appear darker. I also make sure to seal the pieces so that the grout doesn’t
discolor.
You can also "frame" a piece by nailing a strip of metal or glue moulding (picture
frame) around the edges.
